Biography
Dr. Joshua Morales is a hematologist and oncologist at Blue Ridge Cancer Care. He is a native of Virginia Beach and resides in the Roanoke area since joining the practice in 2017. Dr. Morales is committed to providing compassionate and comprehensive care to his patients. He is also dedicated to education and serves as a clinical instructor for medical students, internal medicine residents, and palliative care fellows.
Dr. Morales received his undergraduate degree from James Madison University and his medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in hematology and oncology at VCU/MCV. During his training, he served as chief medical resident and chief fellow.
Dr. Morales has received numerous awards for his teaching and clinical excellence. In 2023, he was awarded the Subspecialist Teaching in Medicine Award by the Carilion Clinic Department of Medicine. He has also received the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award, the Gold Humanism Honor Society Faculty Inductee Award, and the Arnold P. Gold Humanism in Medicine Award.
Dr. Morales is married and has three children. In his spare time, he enjoys playing basketball and soccer, hiking, and spending time with his family.

Biography
Dr. Bret Adams grew up in the Washington DC suburbs and completed his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at the University of Richmond. He went on to obtain both his MD and PhD at the Medical College of Virginia/VCU School of Medicine. His research focused on developing drugs to make radiation more effective. He then completed an internship in Medicine at VCU. His Radiation Oncology residency training was completed at Jackson Memorial Hospital/Sylvester Cancer Center in South Florida.
During his training at Jackson Memorial Hospital, Dr. Adams served as Chief Resident in the Department of Radiation Oncology. He completed several book chapters on delivery of radiation and has contributed numerous publications to the field. He is an active member of ASTRO/American Society for Radiation Oncology.
Dr. Adams most enjoys spending time with his wife and son. Together they stay active by taking advantage many of the outdoor activities living in Blue Ridge Mountains affords.

Dr. John Rogers grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana, and then attended Hobart College in Geneva, New York. After earning his bachelor’s degree in physics, he attended medical school at the Louisiana State University School of Medicine. Dr. Rogers did internship in internal medicine at the Ochsner Foundation Hospital and Clinic in New Orleans. He completed his residency in radiation oncology at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where he also served as chief resident. Dr. Rogers participated in basic science and clinical research related to multiple cancer sites with results published in several journals. He received board certification in radiation oncology in 2006 and recertification in 2016.
Dr. Rogers is also a pilot and has served in the US Air Force since 1999. He continues to actively serve with the Air National Guard.

Born in Portsmouth, Virginia and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Dr. Karanita Ojomo attended Norfolk State University where she graduated cum laude with a B.S. in biology. She then graduated from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. She completed her internship in internal medicine and her radiation oncology residency at Howard University Hospital, Washington, D.C., where she also served as chief resident. Before joining Blue Ridge Cancer Care, she served as a faculty member in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Rochester, New York and was a fellow of the American Cancer Society. Dr. Ojomo is an active member of the American Association of Physician Specialists and American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology.
Dr. Ojomo is active member of her community and is the director of the local hospice. She is also on the board of directors for the Fine Arts Center for the New River Valley and is a stained glass artist.

Dr. David Buck, originally from Radford, Virginia, completed a degree in nuclear engineering from the University of Virginia and is a graduate of the Medical College of Virginia. He completed his transitional residency internship at the Carilion Health System in Roanoke, Virginia. He then completed a radiation oncology residency at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia, where he also served as the chief resident of the Department of Radiation Oncology. He is board certified by the American Board of Radiology.
Dr. Buck is currently the medical director for the Department of Radiation Oncology at the Carilion Clinic Cancer Center and chair of Carilion’s Oncology Committee. He also serves as the president of Blue Ridge Cancer Care and leads radiation oncology research for the USOncology Network.
In his spare time, Dr. Buck enjoys spending time at Smith Mountain Lake with his wife and three daughters.

She received the “Best Resident” award during her residency training. She also received “Outstanding Attending Physician” award from the Carilion Clinic Internal Medicine Residency Program.
Dr. Mallidi has been practicing at Blue Ridge Cancer Care in the Roanoke office location since 2003. She cares for patients with different cancers including breast, lung, colon, head and neck, lymphoma, leukemia, brain tumors and others and a wide range of diseases related to blood disorders. Dr. Mark Kochenderfer received his M.D. and his B.A. at West Virginia University. Dr. Goldschmidt has contributed to multiple publications and is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology. He is board certified in medical oncology and internal medicine.
Dr. Goldschmidt’s interests are cancer survivorship, clinical research and cancer prevention. He also serves as adjunct faculty at Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his wife and children, reading and hiking.
