Dr. Rosenoff Retires After 36 Years of Service
3/02/2012
Blue Ridge Cancer Care (BRCC) would like to announce the retirement of Dr Stephen Rosenoff effective February 29, 2012. Dr. Rosenoff has served the patients of BRCC for over 36 years.
Dr. Rosenoff was the first medical oncologist to provide cancer care in southwest Virginia beginning in December of 1975. He was a founding partner of the Ronald McDonald House and also initiated the first dedicated oncology unit in the Roanoke Valley. During his tenure he was a valuable member of the hospital staffs at Roanoke Memorial, Roanoke Community, Lewis-Gale and the Salem VA Medical Center. He assisted BRCC in opening 5 satellite locations to expand care into needed areas, which included teaching at tumor boards in hospitals as far away as Bluefield and Princeton, WV.
Dr. Rosenoff is looking forward to spending more time with his family and grandchildren. He plans to travel, master his harmonica playing, spend more time with his restaurant (202 Market), manage his farm in South America and also start a new business venture with BarMaster.
We wish Dr. Rosenoff the very best in his retirement and thank him for all he has done for the patients of Blue Ridge Cancer Care.
