Biography

Dr. Matthew R. Skelton graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Fordham University in New York, New York. He received his M.D. from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 2001. He completed his internal medicine residency at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota and his hematology/oncology fellowship at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Dr. Skelton is board certified in oncology, hematology, internal medicine and palliative care. Dr. Skelton is an active committee member of the ASCO Oncology Medical Home, ASCO OMH Pilot Certification Process, US Oncology Value Based Care National Committee. Finally, he participates in the US Oncology Value Pathways Task Force. Dr. Skelton serves as the Physician champion for the value based care at Blue Ridge Cancer Care.

Dr. Skelton is married with three kids and enjoys hiking, skiing and reading spy novels in his free time
