Dr. Joshua Morales is a hematologist and oncologist at Blue Ridge Cancer Care. He is a native of Virginia Beach and resides in the Roanoke area since joining the practice in 2017. Dr. Morales is committed to providing compassionate and comprehensive care to his patients. He is also dedicated to education and serves as a clinical instructor for medical students, internal medicine residents, and palliative care fellows.
Dr. Morales received his undergraduate degree from James Madison University and his medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in hematology and oncology at VCU/MCV. During his training, he served as chief medical resident and chief fellow.
Dr. Morales has received numerous awards for his teaching and clinical excellence. In 2023, he was awarded the Subspecialist Teaching in Medicine Award by the Carilion Clinic Department of Medicine. He has also received the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award, the Gold Humanism Honor Society Faculty Inductee Award, and the Arnold P. Gold Humanism in Medicine Award. Dr Morales was also recognized by Virginia Business Magazine as a Top Doctor in Virginia in 2024 and 2025.
Dr. Morales is married and has three children. In his spare time, he enjoys playing basketball and soccer, hiking, and spending time with his family.
