Dr. Bret Adams grew up in the Washington DC suburbs and completed his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at the University of Richmond. He went on to obtain both his MD and PhD at the Medical College of Virginia/VCU School of Medicine. His research focused on developing drugs to make radiation more effective. He then completed an internship in Medicine at VCU. His Radiation Oncology residency training was completed at Jackson Memorial Hospital/Sylvester Cancer Center in South Florida.
During his training at Jackson Memorial Hospital, Dr. Adams served as Chief Resident in the Department of Radiation Oncology. He completed several book chapters on delivery of radiation and has contributed numerous publications to the field. He is an active member of ASTRO/American Society for Radiation Oncology.
Dr. Adams most enjoys spending time with his wife and son. Together they stay active by taking advantage many of the outdoor activities living in Blue Ridge Mountains affords.
