Biography

Jolee Preston was raised in Roanoke, VA, and graduated from Northside High School.  She graduated from Jefferson College of Health Sciences with an associate degree in nursing in 2001 and later graduated with honors with a bachelor of science degree in nursing in 2004.  She began her career as an oncology nurse at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital and later worked at Blue Ridge Cancer Care as an outpatient chemotherapy nurse.

 She decided to continue her education at Duke University graduating in 2007 with a master’s degree in nursing focusing on nursing education.  She was appointed assistant professor of nursing at her alma mater, Jefferson College of Health Sciences. 

 After years of teaching, she missed patient interaction and decided to attend Duke University to obtain an oncology nurse practitioner degree.  She graduated in May 2011 and began working for Blue Ridge Cancer Care as an in-patient nurse practitioner at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

 Jolee resides in Rocky Mount, VA, with her husband, three children, and their Jack Russell terrier.  She is a member of AANP and ONS.  In her free time, she enjoys riding her Harley-Davidson Street Glide with friends from the local Harley Owner's Group.  She also volunteers each summer at Victory Junction Gang Camp in Randleman, NC.
