Dr. Paul Richards grew up near Niagara Falls in New York. He received his B.A. at the College of Wooster, in Ohio, with Phi Beta Kappa honors as a chemistry major. His received his medical degree from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana and his internal medicine and medical oncology training from Alton Ochsner Foundation Hospital.

Dr. Richards has numerous publications. His professional interests include the director of research at Blue Ridge Cancer Care. 

Dr. Richards has five sons. In addition to being a restaurateur, he enjoys gardening, tae kwon do, snow skiing and swimming.
