Dr. Harry McCoy was born in Norfolk, Virginia. He received a B.A. in psychology at the University of Virginia. He attended the University of Virginia Medical School and obtained his M.D. Dr. McCoy did his internship, residency and then a four year fellowship in hematology and oncology at the University of Florida. He is board certified in medical oncology, hematology, internal medicine and hospice and palliative care.

Dr. McCoy has multiple scientific publications. He has a broad interest in hematology, oncology and in palliative care.  He has been a hospice director for many years. 

Dr. McCoy is married and has two children. He and his family enjoy their life in the New River Valley.
